‘Get ready’: Trump says he will ‘probably’ run for president again in 2024
Donald Trump told a rally crowd in Sioux City, Iowa, last night that he is more likely than ever to run for president in 2024 – but stopped short of making a cast-iron commitment to do so.
“To make our country successful and safe and glorious, I would very, very, probably do it again,” he said. “Get ready, that’s all I’m telling you – soon. prepare.”
Among the cheerleaders before the former president spoke was extremist Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, who fired up the crowd by saying that Paul Pelosi should have been armed and shot his attacker. Mr. Pelosi was released from the hospital on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a judge handling New York Attorney General Letitia James’ fraud case against the Trump Organization and the Trump family has ruled that an independent monitor will oversee the company and limit its ability to conduct business.
In addition, CNN reports that with Trump looking likely to run in 2024, Justice Department officials have discussed the potential need for a special counsel for the Jan. 6 and Mar-a-Lago document investigation. Activity is expected after midterms.
